Easter 2027 and 2028
In Bolivia, Easter time is eminently religious for most people. The Easter “Trivium” of Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday are times for special church services to celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Good Friday is provided as an annual public holiday.
In 2027, Good Friday falls on 26 March. The holiday will be on Friday 14 April in 2028.

Many churches hold processions this time of year, carrying a statue of Jesus on a cross through the town. In the old Jesuit Mission towns in more rural parts of Bolivia, these events are made even more picturesque by the presence of beautiful church buildings dating from colonial times.
Bolivians carry palm branches on Palm Sunday and have them blessed by a Catholic priest, follow the Crucifix through the streets on Good Friday, attend midnight Mass on Holy Saturday (when Jesus was in the grave), and attend sunrise services on Easter Sunday itself. All Holy Week is rigorously observed by many devout Bolivians.
